Kendra K is an award-winning music artist with a passion for educating and entertaining children. She is a seasoned singer, songwriter, producer, pianist and violinist, who has been actively involved with music since she was a young child. Her versatile compositions range from pop, rock, and country to ambient, cinematic, world and children’s music. Additionally, she is a children's book author, educator, family fitness and health expert, and avid philanthropist for children's well-being.
Kendra K’s debut album, Songs for Healthy Mind and Body, combines her love of music with her love of educating and entertaining children. The songs take children on an exciting and upbeat musical adventure full of learning, activity, movement, health, emotional wellness, positive thinking, and FUN!
Music is in her blood. Coming from a long family line of talented musicians, singers, and composers, Kendra was drawn to music at a very young age. Kendra began studying classical piano at the tender age of five and classical violin at age seven. Shortly after beginning piano lessons, she fell in love with composing her own songs and devoted most of her time on the weekends and after school to writing music.
Throughout her childhood, Kendra performed regularly at various local and statewide events and functions. She was also a fierce competitor, receiving numerous awards for her performances of classical pieces as well as for her original mainstream compositions.
While receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Arizona, and working as a physical education teacher and national fitness expert, Kendra continued to write and record music.
She moved to Los Angeles for greater opportunities. It wasn’t long before she began performing around the city and collaborating with some of the industry’s top writers, musicians, and producers, including many Grammy-award winners.
Over the years Kendra has worked hard to advanced her education and is a Certified Physical Education Teacher (K-12th grade), Certified Personal Fitness Trainer (through the American Council on Exercise), Certified Youth Exercise Specialist, and Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist (through the National Academy of Sports Medicine).
When Kendra’s not busy writing songs and recording albums, she enjoys working on various entrepreneurial projects and donating her time and talents as a children’s health advocate. Her biggest joy in life, though, is spending time with her husband and their two young children at their beach side home in the Los Angeles area.
